Given the strong connections between language and literacy, Speech-Language Pathologists, with the support of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, have begun to take the lead in designing intervention that supports development in both domains. Using interactive reading strategies in speech-language intervention is an excellent example of best practice in which newly learned skills can be learned and practice in the functional context of literacy development.  IEPs goals can often be accomplished using RWM strategies and appropriate literacy materials. Here are some books and ideas to get you started!

Please be sure to share your ideas and we will post them here!
