From Jennifer Schultz, president of the South Dakota Speech, Language, and Hearing Association and a source of many fabulous ideas:

I had to share with you that I had great fun yesterday after school with the teachers in one of my districts. We're doing a workshop on "Mosaic of Thought" and I shared "Diary of a Worm" by Doreen Cronin (Click, Clack, Moo, etc.) with them. I'm not sure that I made the "connections" that everyone was hoping for...although I have more in common with a worm than I realized. But we all really enjoyed it. It's a short easy read with limited text on each page, but has some great humor ("May 28: Last night I went to the school dance. You put you head in. You put your head out. You do the hokey pokey and you turn yourself about. That's all we could do.") ...and would really be applicable for teaching about worms!!!
