Shari Robertson, Ph.D., CCC-SLP is
an associate professor in the Department of Special Education and Clinical
Services at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Prior to earning her
doctorate at University of Wisconsin-Madison, she was a school-based
speech-language pathologist and special education supervisor in the West Bend,
Wisconsin school district for 16 years. Teaching in the areas of child
language, phonology, literacy, and counseling, she is dedicated to bridging the
gap between researcher and practicing speech-language pathologists and teachers. Her research involving
intervention with late talkers earned the Editor's Award for in the area of
language from the Journal of Speech, Language, and Hearing Research in 1999.
Dr. Robertson is currently the president of the Pennsylvania
Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
Helen Davig, MA, is currently the
director of the Learning Together Family Literacy Program in Holmen, Wisconsin.
Previously, she earned her degree in education from Viterbo University,
Lacrosse, WI. Helen taught kindergarten for 15 years - an experience that
created an awareness of the need for schools to collaborate with parents to
develop early reading skills. Helen has presented workshops on Read With
Me! through the University of Wisconin-Lacrosse and at numerous venues across
the country.
